There were some very excited children in the centre today. As it was cold and frosty we thought it would be a good idea to light the fire and sing some Christmas songs around it, while drinking delicious hot chocolate.
We hope all the Cart Mill family have a wonderful and safe festive period.
Merry Christmas, and a very happy New Year from us all.
Thank you to all for the most generous gifts you have handed in for the staff, it is very much appreciated.
Please find below a link to a letter from Mark Ratter, Director of Education. It contains important information about the return to nursery in January and details of the application process for provision for the children of keyworkers.
Letter from Mark Ratter 23rd December 2020
This week we are feeling very festive in the toddler room, we have been busy creating lots of lovely Christmas crafts as well as Icing Christmas biscuits and adding some Christmas sprinkles.
We made Christmas cards for our loved ones, and also added lots of tinsel and sparkle to our very own Christmas baubles which I’m sure will be admired for many Christmas’s to come.
This Week in the Home Room we have been writing our letters to Santa.
We have been spending time at our writing station practicing our mark-making skills and looking at magazines with pictures of toys in them discussing what we would like for our Christmas presents from Santa this year.
The children have had great enjoyment at making their Santa List and getting to share their ideas with their friends.
Even our Elf was writing his list for Santa. The children wonder if the Elf will take some of our Santa Lists back to the North Pole.
We developed lots of skills during this activity such as mark-making, early writing skills, fine manipulative skills, and letter recognition.
Merry Christmas everyone from all in the Home Room, hope Santa brings you everything on your list.
Following the First Minister’s announcement, schools and nurseries will reopen on 5th January to key worker and vulnerable children only. Further details will be issued before schools and nurseries go back.
We wish all of our term-time children and staff a very Happy Christmas and we hope that Santa is good to you all!
Happy Holidays Everyone!
The boys and girls in the home room have been enjoying the festive activities at nursery.
We decorated some biscuits with icing sugar and sprinkles, but first we washed our hands…..
We chose different colours of icing to decorate our own biscuits and took them home.
We then heard a bell and a ho ho ho, Santa was in our garden. He sprinkled some magic dust on the stage and then there was presents for all the boys and girls!
Merry Christmas !
To get us even more into the festive spirit we had a comfy and cosy day in our jammies watching movies. We even had a special treat for snack too!
