Bookbug came to see us today, we sang The Hallo song to him.
We read a story ‘That’s not my bunny’
We bounced some toys on the Lycra whilst singing our favourite nursery rhymes, Humpty Dumpty and Baa baa black sheep.
Bookbug had a sneaky turn on our slide
He played hide and seek with his friends
He even joined us for a healthy snack
It was lovely having Bookbug in toddlers today, we all enjoyed seeing him and hope he comes back soon 😁
Today in the toddlers we were exploring the garden investigating items that rolled down the plank.
Some items rolled a little
Some items rolled a lot
It’s good to take turns and work together and work together to problem solve. The children in the toddler room love to explore their curiosity and explore new experiences.
It takes a lot of practice but the toddlers were engaged in their experience 😁
We have been very busy planting ……daffodils, carrots, potatoes, spring onions, herbs and lavender.
Our daffodils are starting to sprout 😁
To plant the sunflowers 🌻 we need a pot, a seed, soil, some water and fingers crossed for lots of sunshine 🌞 to make them grow
We check our plants everyday to see if they have grown
Or if they need a little drink.
We are patiently waiting for our vegetables to grow so we can take them into the 3-5rm and make some delicious soup….yum
First of all we enjoyed a wee story on how we make pancakes
We sang the pancake song, we put it in the pan, we shook a little sugar, we squeezed a little lemon and we put it in our tummy with a YUM YUM YUM 😋
We had pancakes for snack with a choice of butter and jam and a lovely refreshing glass of milk.
We wish everyday was pancake day 😋
Having a wee dance with our friends
Enjoying some scottish poetry
Making some flags using car tyre tracks to design
Eightsome reel nursery style
Enjoying a story ‘Ye canne shove yer granny aff the bus’
Enjoying some haggis, neeps and tatties and shortbread for snack.
Yum yum 😁
Everyone had a great day.
In the garden admiring the rainbow the toddlers were looking to see if we could see any birds……? We wondered what could we do to encourage the birds to visit our garden???
we decided to make some delicious food that birds would enjoy, we mixed some lard and bird seeds together……lovely!!!
The children agreed the feeders looked good for the birds but they would prefer their own lunch.
The blackbirds got together and spread the word around Clarkston that the toddlers at Cart Mill Family Centre had made some fabulous feeders for them.
They were joined by some magpies and a robin (please excuse the photography 🤪)
We will be planting some bulbs soon to hopefully encourage more wildlife to visit our garden.
We talked about our feelings, what makes us happy and what makes us sad 😔
We made some poppies with play dough and painted some beautiful poppies.
We really enjoyed looking at our wall of poppies
We lay as still and as quietly as we could for our minutes silence
As it was such a lovely Autumn day the toddler room decided to go a little walk around the nursery and explore the natural environment.
I wonder what different colours you can see?
The toddlers are off on a leaf hunt
We were collecting lots of different colours of leaves in our buckets
Throwing leaves is great fun too!
Using the leaves to design wonderful autumn creations
Today in the toddler room we have been practising using our gross motor skills by balancing, jumping, kicking, throwing and catching a ball. By developing these skills we are encouraging confidence, hand to eye co ordination, taking turns and celebrating the achievements of others whilst enjoying the fresh air and having fun 😁
I hope your all keeping safe and well, we are all really missing you!
Welcome to Gail’s house I’m doing a little arts and craft come and see……
