Outdoor fun

Today the children were excited to take part in an Easter Egg hunt in the family centre garden. Everyone found an egg to take home and show their parent; yippee!!

Next the children played hide and seek. Kaile found Abby behind the man at work sign…great hiding place. Later the children decided to, play hop scotch, build a large obstacle and then the decided to make their own slide.

Visiting our neighbours at Williamwood High School and Bonnyton House

Today has been a busy day for us as we have been out and about visiting our friends in the community and showing off our Easter Hats. The lovely ladies who work in the kitchen were very impressed with the designs on the children’s hats and were delighted to see us.

Michael’s sheep hat was a big hit!

Easter Parade

In the afternoon we walked over to see our friends at Bonnyton House.  We haven’t seen them for a little while so it was nice to catch up and show off our hats to them too.

We sang some Easter Songs, and the ladies and gentlemen were clapping their hands and singing along with us.

Spring and Easter fun at Cart Mill

Enjoy this little film, and have a think about this question….

What came first? The Chicken or the Egg? Answers in the comments box please ….

Tomorrow we are hoping that the Easter Bunny will hop along to our centre and leave some eggs for us. He/She (who knows?) has a habit of hiding the eggs for us to hunt for them, so that will be fun.  We are also visiting our friends at Williamwood High School  and Bonnyton House with our Easter Hats on.

Easter Craft Day

Thank you to everyone who attended our Easter Craft event today. The children were very excited to play and learn with you in our family room. It’s also a good opportunity for you all to take away some of the ideas and experiences you shared and carry them out again with your children over the Easter holidays.

Messy, but fun!

Thank you for supporting our little Easter event.

A Visit to the Pet Shop

We had a lovely walk to Clarkston to visit the Pet Shop and Vets We visited the pet shop to see the animals there. On our visit the children were able to name the Parrot and hear it talk. When we were in the shop the Shop Keeper showed us all the different foods that nimals need to stay healthy and nurtured. We were able to see that animals have different living environments and needs.  We saw fish, birds, bearded dragons, rabbits, and locusts.

We saw baby bunnies and budgies which looked like our easter chicks.

We also watched a dog at the groomers getting his coat taken off for spring time. ‘He is pretty.’ We talked about taking off our heavy coats as it is warmer now. The man in the pet shop allowed us to scan items in the shop to explore how a cash register works. We bought a little bird feeder for our bird box outside.

What a lovely visit! We will definitely be back.

Easter Egg Hunts

The children, parents and staff braved the wind and rain for our Easter egg hunts today for which wellies were required.

The Easter bunny had hidden eggs all over the Eco-Garden at Williamwood High School.  Easter bunny thought that the boys and girls might get a lot of chocolate treats this weekend so he gave the children a little  Easter bunny and chick instead.

The afternoon children visited Bonnyton House where we always get a warm welcome.  We took some Easter treats for the residents and day visitors.  They loved seeing the children and their hats which brought back memories of Easter bonnets for many of them.
