🎄🎄Christmas Lunch at Cart Mill Cafe 🎄🎄

The festive season is in full swing at Cart Mill, and today we celebrated with our annual Christmas lunch! Preparations began this morning, with the children using their mark-making skills to create beautiful baubles to decorate our dining room, adding a personal touch to the festivities.  Using a selecting of Christmas craft materials, they explored their creative skills and made some fantastic Christmas decorations. We even has some amazing name writing!

On the menu was a mouthwatering traditional turkey dinner, complete with all the trimmings. It was a real treat for everyone! Let’s not forget the delicious ice cream for our pudding!

In early years, sharing meals together is so much more than just eating. It’s a valuable opportunity for children to develop their social skills, engage in meaningful conversations, and build connections with their peers and adults. Moments like these create lasting memories and help foster a strong sense of community.

Take a look at some of the photos and comments from today ☺️

”The carrots are my favourite”

”We have Christmas dinner at our house but it’s different”

”I like the turkey”

”It’s chocolate ice cream, that’s my favourite!”

The children were all smiles and clearly enjoyed every bite of their Christmas lunch, and let’s not forget a big thank you to our Louise our fantastic Cart Mill Chef!

Wishing everyone a joyful and festive season!

Christmas is in Full Swing

Christmas is certainly in full swing at Cart Mill. Just when we thought we couldn’t fit anymore in to our calendar, we had a visit from Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre in to do not one but two shows of The Gingerbread Man!

We all loved it. We laughed, shouted, squealed and sat so well. Bet you’re thinking oh no you didn’t, but OH YES WE DID!!!!

Tomorrow, it is Christmas lunch in the centre then later this week we are starting some Christmas baking and lots of rehearsing for the Cart Mill Christmas Concert. We also have Colette coming in for some Christmas dancing next week, pyjama/movie day and hopefully a visitor from the North Pole! 🎅
We will all be exhausted by Christmas!

Santa visits Cart Mill!

Today at Cart Mill we got to wear our pyjamas to nursery! All the children loved showing off their cosy warm pyjamas.

We watched a short video of Santa outside Cart Mill which got the children very excited! Some of the children heard bells ringing and spotted Santa in our garden! He had arrived at nursery to see us all!

The children went in groups to see Santa and they all got a gift and their photo taken! Santa was so happy to meet such lovely, polite children!

After the excitement of seeing Santa we had some chilled time and got comfy with cushions and blankets on the rug and watched some Christmas Mickey Mouse!

We then had plenty of energy for some Christmas dancing! We copied the elves on the board and made up our own unique dance moves!

What a great fun day we all had, getting in the festive spirit. We are all so excited to share our wonderful singing with you at our concert tomorrow.
