This week in the Studio we have been exploring filling, pouring and emptying.
The children helped to fill up the water tray, discussing how many tubs of water we need to fill up the tray. We also discussed the difference between hot and cold water.
The children then selected what resources they would need to use to be able to fill, pour and empty the water.
we selected large measuring jugs, small jugs, cups, and watering cans.
We experimented and problem solved with different types of containers but decided they were too small or not suitable for the type of play they wanted.
The children had great fun doing this and were engaged in their play for a long time.
The children continued this play into the garden, but this time they used the puddles and mud kitchen resources to explore their pouring, filing and emptying in a bigger scale.
We put on our puddle suits and got stuck in. It was great fun had by all.
Who knew playing with water could be such fun.
