Issue: Notice of Password Change email – Fixed

Update March 8, 2016, this issue has been fixed.

There is a current issue where the Blogs system is incorrectly sending an email with the subject of “Notice of Password Change”.

Glow Blogs do not use passwords as they use RM Unify to authenticate.

We are investigating. Please ignore this email.

Video problem on iOS

This was fixed in a release in March 2016
Currently Video uploaded and embedded to Glow Blogs does not play on iOS.

The Developers have identified the reason for the problem and ways to fix the issue. These are currently being evaluated and we hope to have a fix in an update soon.

Internet Explorer Needs Compatibility Mode

Fixed in Upgrade to WordPress 4 January 2015

A long time issue with glow blogs has been the need to turn on compatibility mode in newer versions of Internet Explorer.

This problem will go away when we move to WordPress version 4 (Hopefully before the end of 2014).

There are various problems with using a new version of IE with blogs without compatibility mode, the worst probably being that  publishing a post, fails to save & publish the content of the post.

Workaround: If you have to use IE make sure compatibility mode is turned on. Or use a different browser.

Scheduled Posts

Fixed in Upgrade to WordPress 4 January 2015

It appears that scheduling of posts is failing. We have started to investigate this.

At the moment there is no workaround except to publish posts directly.

Regulus Comment Problem

This issue was fixed in release phase 1.1

If you use the Regulus theme there is a problem with comments from people who are not logged on to glow. An incompatibility with the captcha shown to stop spam bots on public blogs affects the theme.

A fix is in progress.

Workaround

Change the theme if you need comments on a public blog.

Suffusion Theme

The Suffusion Theme has been retired July 2015. If your blog already used the them it will continue to do so. The Theme will not be available in the Theme Picker. At a later date we will completely remove the theme. Plenty of warning will be given.

Older Issues

This issue was fixed in release phase 1.1

It appears that blogs using the Suffusion theme which have featured posts turned on on the front page show no content. The developers have fixed the problem and the fix will be deployed soon.

Workaround

You can avoid the problem by turning off featured posts.

In the Dashboard:

  1. Click on Suffusion
  2. Click on Blog Features
  3. Click on Featured Content
  4. Disable Featured Content

This will turn of Feature content, so you will not be able to see the Featured Content Slider on your home page.

One a fix has been applied you will be able to turn Featured Content back on.

If you have used the magazine template for pages it may have featured content turned on too, you can turn it off in the dashboard:

Suffusion-> Templates->Magazine:
