e-Portfolios: Privacy and Permissions

Like other blogs e-Protfolios can be Private, Glow Only or Public.

Currently most e-portfolios have been set up as Private blogs.  Private blogs can only be accessed by users who have been added to the blog and have a role there. See adding users setting roles for more information.

Some schools/classes make their e-portfolio blogs Glow Only this means they can be accessed by anyone who has the link to the blog.

Public blogs can be viewed by anyone online. Pupils cannot make their blogs public.

When setting up  e-Portfolios you need to think carefully about the choice between Private and Glow Only.  Glow Only will give easier access to the blogs by members of staff for adding comment or for fellow pupils to peer assess.

Private gives finer control of who has access to the blog but these users need to be added by username by the pupil who owned the blog.
