If you need to report an issue you need raise it through your Local Authority with the RM help desk.
Reporting Problems – Details
It can help or Support and Developer Team if you take screenshots of problems that you find.
It is also a good idea to include the URL (web address) of the blog you have an issue with.
Finally if you know the operating system, for example Windows 10, and browser, Chrome 30, and versions these can help.
If you do not know how to take a screenshot you might find http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/ or WordPress.com’s Advice helpful.
Support with Using Glow Blogs
If you need help with any aspect of using Glow Blogs you may find information here that will help. The search facility may be useful.
If you do not find what you want we will try and answer any comments here promptly. It may help other users if you find an appropriate post or page to add your comment, as hopefully any answer will be a resource for other users too.
Alternatively fill in this form and we will get back to you via email.
We can’t help with general Glow questions or questions about username and passwords. You can find help for other glow services on Help with Glow – Glow Connect (Accounts and passwords)
Please double check your email address in the form, it is easy to make a mistake, and then we cannot get back to you.
I was working with a colleague on their Glow Blog and for some reason it has 2 home pages when you view the site. However when going into the Dashboard there is only the one page, this can be edited and the other is not there.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Stephen
Hi Stephen,
I suspect that one is a page and one a page of posts.
You may have created a static page called home. Have a lot in settings->reading to get a clue. feel free to send me the URL and I’ll have a look: gw09johnstonjohn4@glowmail.org.uk
When registering a school website blog for the first time is it best to use the school admin login in so the blog ownership stays at the school and not with a specific member of staff who could move away, retire etc….
Does this not matter if the access rights can be handed over to another user as the administrator?
Hi Claire,
You can add any user at any time as an Admin. The person who creates the blog will be an admin, but they can add as many other admins as they like. It sounds like a good idea to have the school admin in as a blog admin.
One of our classes has uploaded a video clip to our blog, we can view it in school but parents are reporting they are unable to play this at home.
I have advised them to change browser but there is still this problem. Is there anything you can recommend. (we can play video in school)
TIA
Hi Tracey,
Video is tricky online. Different browsers and operations systems affect what files and encoding can be played.
There is a problem on iOS playback of video which is being worked on now:
https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/glowblogs/glowbloghelp/2015/09/27/video-problem-on-ios/
This may address some other playback issues on different setups. I hope we will have that out soon.
