We have been super busy this week. Below are some of the things we enjoyed.

-We completed our boat designs to add to Skipper’s river.

-We have revised 2d shapes and some of their properties.

-We learned about parrallel and perpendicular lines. We learned to spot these in real life.

P7A Review of the Week

This week’s highlights:

  • Reading more of the Novel ‘Wonder’ – starting to understand things from his sister’s point of view
  • Learning about Angles – how to measure them, how to draw them accurately, how to calculate angles when you know part of a straight line or whole turn and about vertically opposite angles
  • Revising rules for Rounding numbers
  • Exploring Volume, Mass, Density and Buoyancy in Science
  • Improving our understanding of how to write a really great Description and using it to write about either a Spooky House or a New York Skyscraper scene
  • Taking part in some Prefect Training to learn some new playground games with all the P7s.

Time for Reflection:

  1. When were you at you best this week?
  2. Why do you think that was?
  3. What one thing do you feel you could work on next week?

Primary 7B Round Up

We have had another busy week in Primary 7B. We have continued with our Novel Study and the class have enjoyed researching different landmarks for our artwork .

In maths, we have been rounding numbers and looking at place value.

We have started engaging with Descriptive writing texts and have been looking at adjectives to help us with this. In spelling we have been revising the short e sound.

We have been learning about forces in science and had to investigate friction within our classroom. The children were challenged to design an experiment which would test the distance and speed of vehicles on different surfaces around the room. One of the main considerations was how to ensure they were carrying out a fair test.

Post your comments below

1.What was your highlight of the week and why?

2. What did you find most challenging and how did you overcome any of these challenges?

3. What are you most looking forward to next week?

model castles

In our class novel, Max and the Millions, Max makes a tiny model castle. We used 3D shapes to create our own models and even added extra features like flags, crenellations  and draw bridges.

Primary 7 Prefect Preparation

This week the Primary 7s got together to talk about their role as Prefects at Kingsland and had the opportunity to try out some playground games that they may use when helping out in the playground.

It was lovely to see the children working together in groups and consider the challenges they might face in different roles. Well done everyone!

The school garden

Hello Primary 2!

We were very pleased over the summer to see all of the seeds growing that we sowed in Primary 1.

Earlier this week we harvested the courgettes and passed them to Mrs Clyde in the kitchen. Mrs Clyde and her team cooked them for us today and we ate them with the chicken tikka at lunchtime. They were delicious!

sound of the day – mmmmmm

Seren came up to visit us today with some amazing ice cream and explained how she picked a winner. She told us that after looking through all of our ideas she got it down to a short list of 3 and then picked the one she wanted to make. The winner was Allan!

Allan’s ice cream was Chocolate Raspberry Delight.

It took 2 days to make the ice cream as all the ingredients had to be mixed together and cooked before they were frozen.

Seren then delivered our tubs of ice cream and we got to taste the finished result. It was DELICIOUS! Thank you Seren!
