Traditional Tales in Primary 1

Over the past few weeks we have enjoyed exploring traditional tales such as Jack and the Beanstalk and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Today we heard the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff and made predictions about what would happen next.

Afterwards, the children had the option of making a scary troll mask or goat mask. The children listened well and developed their cutting skills too.

P4/5 den building

We had to work as a team to build a den that we could fit in.  We had great fun but found it hard to tie knots and those of us outside struggled to stop our dens from blowing away in the wind!

ELC settling in

We have had a busy first couple of weeks in ELC settling into our new routines and rules.

Lots of changes have happened over the summer in our ELC, with a new cloakroom area, a covered outdoor area and now some children stay all day in ELC and have lunch.

We have also welcomed new staff members in ELC, please come and say hello!

This term we are also learning about Nursery Rhymes. Mrs Ramage used the “talking tub” to find out what Nursery Rhymes we already know and what ones we would like to sing.

Please leave a comment on our posts and share photos with your child, we love to hear your views!

Week ending 30th August 2019

These are our P6B pledges to help Save our World.   Thomas has pledged to reuse plastic bags.   Oliver R has pledged to look after his pet and recycle.

I enjoyed learning about the Rainforest environment particularly how many animals and birds live there.  Tara

I have enjoyed the place value game with the dice trying to make the highest number.  Callum

I enjoyed playing hockey even although I kept falling over the stick.  Rana

Everyone said that the place value song with the words hundreds, thousands and millions really helped our number work.

Getting to know Primary5B!

As a getting to know you activity Primary 5b brought in a bag with 4 items that told us something about them. They shared these with the class, it was so interesting to see the different things everyone had chosen to bring in!
