We played a game in class, for ordering and comparing numbers. We enjoyed it so much that we wanted it on the blog so we can play at home too!

As part of our work on Cultures we have been looking at some of the cultures that we belong to and their values, customs and rules. For homework we designed a poster or PowerPoint on these cultures. Click on the links below to have a look at some of these.
We have been learning lots about the Egyptians. They used pictures called Hieroglyphs to write. We used dough to make our favourite hieroglyphs. Can you tell what letters these are?
P4a found some websites to help us practise alphabetical order.
Use the links below to practise your alphabet skills at home.

We are having great fun thinking like scientists. Today we got some fizzy water and put sultanas in it.
We observed the sultanas. We saw them dance, jump, and float up and down.
They were covered in fizzy bubbles. The fizzy bubbles were full of gas.
We are learning that water can be a liquid, a solid and a gas. But the gas is steam and it is too hot for us to have in the classroom. So we looked at some gas we could see safely.
Our very first day in P3B we went outside with ice and water and we compared them. What a lot of similarities and differences we noticed. We are VERY OBSERVANT scientists and we are learning to compare.
In ELC we have been having fun exploring lots of different Traditional Tales. We have done lots of different activities and ways to telling the stories, take a look and let us know what you think!
We have made our tuff spot into a “3little pigs” area, where children have been brilliant at using their imagination to act out the story with the props.
There are various fairy tale jigsaws that children have loved working together in small groups or pairs to complete.
Our home are has been turned into the “3 bears” house and there is different sized bowls, beds and bears for role play.
We have had some uncooked porridge oats in our tuff tray along with some numbers for children to explore numbers and practice pouring with bowls like the 3 bears. We also had porridge for snack one day!
In our Story corner, we have had a 3 bears story sack as another opportunity for children to act out the story.
We welcomed parents/carers in to share a story with us at the end of the day, and have read lots of other Traditional Tales at story times.
We have also explored stories on the smart board in the library in the school and through drama inn the gym hall!
Your deeds are your monument!
P7A’s favourite thing was the murder mystery. We went round the school to see how the murderer got in to the building. Jeannette got killed and the janitor found her at 7.00am. How do you think the murderer got in? We did the murder mystery to work on our inference skills for literacy. We also did it to work on (PEA) which stands for point, evidence and analysis. We had to think out side the box and under the iceberg.
We have been learning how to write play scripts this term. Here is one between George and Grandma:
Grandma: What did you put in the medicine Worm?
George: I put in toothpaste and brown paint.
Grandma: No wonder it was disgusting!
George: You kind of deserved it because you are quite mean Grandma.
Grandma: Me mean? I’m not mean!
George: As well as that I put in some nippy things including horse radish sauce and some chillies.
Grandma: No wonder my tummy went on fire!
