School in the past

During our Topic lessons, we have been learning about school now and in the past. We have enjoyed learning about the history of Kingsland Primary School.

We enjoyed looking through old pictures of Kingsland and spotted some familiar teachers.

We also created life sized school children and teachers of the past. Here is a picture of some of the girls tracing around Beth.

Fortune Teller

Primary 3/2

Linked to our Literacy learning, we followed instructions on how to make a fortune teller. We enjoyed playing with this with our friends. We then wrote our own instructions on how to make a fortune teller.

Tessellation Fun

Primary 3/2

In Maths, we have been learning about tessellation (tiling). We explored different shapes to find out if they would fit together with no spaces between. We enjoyed working together and eventually creating a tessellation painting which is displayed on our classroom wall.

Lets Go Fly A Kite!

Primary 3/2

We have been learning to write instructions. We followed instructions on how to make a kite. We enjoyed creating our kite, using paper, scissors, hole puncher, and a wooden stick. We decorated our kite with colours and patterns and enjoyed testing them outside.  When we came back to class, we wrote our own instructions on how to make a kite.

Here are some pictures of us during the process.

Breathing Buddies

Primary 3/2

During our Health and Well-being lessons we made a breathing buddy. We used paper cups with a hole on the bottom and tissue paper. We enjoyed decorating our breath buddy.  When we breath through our buddies we can see the tissue paper move.

Here is a picture of Evan and his breathing buddy!

Winter inspiration

As we (hopefully) head towards Spring, here’s a selection of some of our work which was inspired by the recent wintery weather. P5A explored different media and painting techniques to create these beautiful wintery trees. We also used ‘Snow’ as a theme for writing Narrative texts where the complication was something to do with the weather. Together we think they make a pretty good addition to our already fabulous corridor.
