Your deeds are your monument!

P7A’s favourite thing was the murder mystery. We went round the school to see how the murderer got in to the building. Jeannette got killed and the janitor found her at 7.00am. How do you think the murderer got in? We did the murder mystery to work on our inference skills for literacy. We also did it to work on (PEA) which stands for point, evidence and analysis. We had to think out side the box and under the iceberg.

We have been learning how to write play scripts this term.  Here is one between George and Grandma:

Grandma: What did you put in the medicine Worm?

George: I put in toothpaste and brown paint.

Grandma: No wonder it was disgusting!

George: You kind of deserved it because you are quite mean Grandma.

Grandma: Me mean? I’m not mean!

George: As well as that I put in some nippy things including horse radish sauce and some chillies.

Grandma: No wonder my tummy went on fire!

The staff are spending the evening getting everything prepared at school to make sure we can have a great time next week.

5 days to go…

Make sure any medication you have told us you are bringing is in date.

Check the weather forecast for next week.

6 days to go!

Make sure you have handed all your forms back to the school.

Discuss with your room mates who will bring shampoo, shower gel etc.

7 days to go until Dalguise…

Start thinking about laying out your clothes or making a list of things to take with you.

As we have a busy week preparing for Dalguise, we want to think about the things we are most excited for and what we want to achieve during this challenging but fun week. Comment below with one thing you are excited about and one thing you want to achieve/get out of your trip. Everyone will have different answers and different aims so have a look through and read what everyone else is posting too. We can look back at these when we get back from Dalguise and see if it was everything we thought it was going to be and if we achieved our goals.

We have been learning the sounds s, a, t and p.  We did lots of activities to help us learn these sounds.

On Monday we had great fun in maths.  We were given number clues that we had to work out and each clue was a number that opened a padlock. Once we opened the padlock we got the next clue and had to keep going until we got to envelop number 4.  The first table to crack all the clues was the Matilda table.
