Printing was the focus in Art for P5A last block and they are very proud of their finished creations. They can’t wait to show off their work to their parents and carers next week. Check out the display at the top of the main stairs and in the classroom.
Remembrance in P1
On Monday 11th November we talked about Remembrance Day and why we buy and wear poppies. The children were interested to know more and so we explored this further.
We watched a clip together and enjoyed talking about the music and the use of colour in the video. We made our own poppies which we were really proud of.

On Thursday we were learning about mixing paints and we painted these lovely poppy pictures. We added white to create lighter shades of green and thought about how we could use brush strokes to add detail to our paintings.
Une lettre!
P5a were very excited to receive a letter today all the way from Switzerland! We wrote to Mme Brown (neé Nicholson) in French and she wrote back to us. We were so proud of ourselves when we realised we were able to read and understand everything in her letter and are looking forward to writing back!
P3 Problem Solving Coloured Shapes
P3 had more fun today solving this puzzle. Some pairs used cubes and others drew and coloured in small shapes. Everyone tried an idea and then changed it as they followed the clues. We had to guess, check and improve our ideas to find the correct solution.
Red is not next to grey.
Blue is between white and grey.
Green is not a square.
Blue is on the right of pink.
Have fun finding the solution.

That’s great Harris. I shall look for others to exercise your brain even more.
Together Tuesdays
P4 and 5 are having a great time doing Expressive Arts and Problem Solving with our friends from other classes this term. Every Tuesday afternoon we get to do Art, Music, Dance or Team Challenges with either Mrs Rand, Mrs Belleville, Mrs Little or Mrs Stevenson – and the best bit is we get to mix with people we don’t get to see all the time.
Here are a few of us having a blast doing a bit of Zumba!
