Book Bug Bags

This week Primary 1 will bring  home their Book Bug Bags that are given to them by the Scottish Book Trust. In each bag there are three super books to read and enjoy together. There is also a mini whiteboard to practise letters and numbers on.

Today we read one of the books called Brenda is a Sheep by Morag Hood.

This is the story of how a wolf plans to eat a flock of sheep but ends up deciding that it would be nicer to be their friend.

We talked about what we enjoyed about the book and designed our own woolly jumpers for Brenda to wear.

Telling the Time

Primary 1 have learning about time. We have been talking about the order of our day and exploring the clock face. We have made our own clocks and are learning to recognise when the hands of the clock show an o’clock time.

Qu is for Quack

Our new sound in primary 1 is qu as in quack, queen, quick and quiet.       We shared a story called The Quest  and the Alphablocks taught us about q and u working together. We made a quacking duck to take home to help us learn our new sound.
