Pupil council rep for P5b

P5b had 6 candidates who chose to present to the class for the role of ‘Pupil Council Rep’. The class voted for the candidate they thought would represent our class best, based on their ‘speech’ – looking for qualities like being respectful, being compassion, being courageous, being a good listener and talker, willing to miss break/lunchtime and many more!

We are pleased to announce that our winning candidate is Sally who will be out pupil rep, and Otto was a close second and has agreed to take on the role of Class council secretary.

Congratulations Sally and Otto!

Measuring

We took our measuring outdoors and here we are measuring with our feet. ( Non standard units )

As you can see in the picture we all have different sizes of feet so we would come up with different answers.

Next week we need to use centimetres and metres so that we all get the same answer. ( Standard units )

Another busy week in Primary 1!

This week we have been learning about the k and sound. We developed our fine motor skills as we concentrated on creating detailed patterns for our kites.

We also practised our cutting skills as we cut around squiggly lines to make an egg. We made the egg yolk by tearing and scrunching up little pieces of paper.

The classes have also been exploring our school as part of our new topic. We worked really hard to produce these fantastic black pen drawings of the building. The children liked walking around our P1 Art Gallery afterwards as they admired their artwork and listened to some relaxing music.
