We have started two experiments to look at how seeds and beans would cope in different environments because during seed dispersal it can be luck whether a seed gets a nice place to grow or a difficult environment to grow in. We are keeping an eye on the cress and broad beans to see the best environment for germination. Some of our seeds and beans are growing well.

We started with the same amount of seeds and beans in each jar or dish. We are giving them all the same amount of water and light unless this is their one variable.  This is to make sure it is a fair test. Some of the variables are salty water, smoothie, sand, food colouring, hot water, classical music, litter, compost, shade, extra water or no light at all.
