Screencast: Very Basic post using the Classic Editor

How to make a very basic Post.

  1. Log on to your blog dashboard
    1. Click on Site Admin in the sidebar of your blog.
    2. If you are not logged into glow you will be redirected to the glow logon screen
  2. Create a new post
    1. Click + on the Admin bar at the top of the dashboard or any page on your blog (if you are logged in).
    2. The + button is also a popup button that will allow you to create a new page, upload etc.
  3. Write your post
    1. All a post needs is a title and some body text.
    2. Fill in the title
    3. Fill in the body text
  4. Publish Click Publish
  5. View Post To view your new post click View Post

Using the Classic Editor

1. Log onto your blog dashboard

Click on Site Admin in the sidebar of your blog.
If you are not logged into glow you will be redirected to the glow logon screen

2. Create a New Post

Click on the + New this is a feature of the WordPress Admin bar that will appear to logged on users, both on the blog and the dashboard. Hovering over the + New will drop a menu, so that you can choose: Post, Media or Page.

Write your post

All a post needs is a title and some text:

  1. Fill in the title
  2. Fill in the body text
  3. Click Publish
Write your post

View Post

After clicking publish, you get notified [1], The Status [2] changes, and you can click View Post [3]. The Publish button has changed to Update [4].

Password Protected Posts

Password protected posts are only as strong as the password applied.
This potentially could lead to users using lightweight passwords for important private information. We do not believe that many bloggers are using password protected post but encourage all users to consider the strength of passwords if they use this facility.
