Today our S3 French pupils were looking at expressing ideas in French abut International women’s day. The young people were able to further develop their vocabulary through using their dictionary skills before working collaboratively to research a woman who they found to be inspiring and who has had an impact on society.
Since Wednesday we have been excitedly welcoming new ducklings in to the Ness Room. We have them for the next 7 days before they go back to the big wide world.
They have been named Cole, Sonny, Dwayne and Custard. We are eagerly awaiting the last duckling. It was great fun putting them in the water for their first swim.
Keep an eye out for more updates.
We were learning about Shrove Tuesday and the origins from around the UK. We finished this off by putting our own toppings on our own pancakes.
A massive well done to our Diversity Ambassadors for putting together this year’s Mother Tongue Show!
It was a great evening full of a variety of acts ranging from dancing, music and acting, which showcased the cultures at King’s Park Secondary School.
A very big thank you to all of our young people who spent hours rehearsing, who supported the event and to all staff who helped with the running of the event. I think we can all agree that their hard work paid off!
Well done to all those who took part.

There was bookish buzz in the department and wider school this afternoon!
Today, as a belated World Book Day celebration, classes completed a Book Quiz created by S1s Dora, Evie and Hollie (1L), a Guess the Teacher Bookshelf quiz and then S2s interviewed teachers across the school about their reading habits. Those who managed to get all 20 questions answered in 10 minutes won themselves a house point.
The winners of the S2 Book Bingo competition are Lewis House who managed to gain 4 points for their house. Well done, Lewis!
Keep reading, and keep chatting about what you are reading.

A group of our young people from S1-3 have had an incredible time developing their riding skills at Linn Park Equestrian Centre over the past few weeks.
For some, this was a fantastic opportunity to step out of their comfort zone and try something completely new. For others, it was a chance to build their confidence and refine their independent riding abilities.
No matter their starting point, every participant showed dedication, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to improving their skills—all while having plenty of fun along the way!
A huge well done to everyone who took part!
We are incredibly proud to share some exciting news from our school’s volleyball teams! Both our senior boys’ and girls’ teams recently competed in the Glasgow Volleyball Finals after battling through tough competition to earn their places.
The event was a fantastic showcase of skill, teamwork, and determination, with schools from across the city competing at a high level. Our players gave it their all, demonstrating resilience and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
A special congratulations goes to our senior girls’ team, who put on an outstanding performance in the final against Hillpark Secondary. With a confident and composed display, they secured a 2-0 victory, claiming the championship title! Their hard work and dedication throughout the season truly paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.
