How can we learn more about night and day in and around our classroom ?
We worked together to make floats, boats and rafts to keep our toy hedgehogs dry . We had to test out many different materials and found that some were more successful than others. When we added the second hedgehog we also found out that our designs capsized so, we had to then rethink our designs.
Welcome to our P2b blog! We look forward to sharing our learning with you!
P1 are learning to form their numbers correctly and we explored the number three through the story of, ” The three little pigs.”
Together we are building up a hedgehog hide in our classroom and we have been exploring our hedgehog theme through Percy the Park keeper stories. Here we are exploring the characters through Role Play. It is helping to build up our confidence and we are enjoying learning through our play.
P2 pupils have been working very hard to make pom pom hedgehogs. We have chosen our wool, wrapped it round and round a half doughnut ring many, many times. Then our teacher cut the wool for us, attached both parts together and created a really fluffy hedgehog. We then added the snout and our hedgehogs came to life.
We knew it would be fun but, we had not realised how tricky it would be……………….
We learned about patience and perseverance as we made our pom poms.
P2 have been helping P1 to clean their teeth after lunch. We brush our teeth every day for 2 minutes.
P2 and P1 have been finding out about hedgehogs.
P1 got a big surprise today when they looked outside their classroom – there was a huge hedgehog ! They have been asking questions and throughout the topic we will try to answer as many of these questions as possible.
P2 learned that you are extremely lucky if you see a hedgehog in the daytime because hedgehogs are nocturnal animals. They also found out that hedgehogs love to drink milk and eat slugs and bugs – yuck !
P2 have been enjoying the increased responsibility of helping the P1 pupils in their class to follow the rules and routines of our new classroom. This has been very good for building up our confidence in communicating with others.
It has been fun meeting new friends and catching up with old ones. We are working hard to build up friendships and work well with each other.
