There are now well over 200000 blogs in Glow Blogs. Many have now fallen into disuse.
We are going to be removing some inactive blogs to help with the performance of those in use – this will include private blogs with no users and blogs with no updates for over 2 years. Further information will be issued in the next two weeks.
So if you have a blog you use, but it has not been updated for a couple of years it might be an idea to update it.
I have created a large number of blogs which are interlinked via the Science@hyndland parent site. It should be noted these sites are used as websites, not blogs in the sense that they are static pages – not used for “posting” commentary. The blogs are the method our faculty uses for delivering homework to classes across the Sciences and are integral to the support we can offer. It is not clear if all those blogs which we still use will have been updated over the last two years as once the exercises are in place there is often no need to update them. It would be disappointing to see this work go. In addition it would impact the education of youngsters. I am happy to review my portfolio of blogs and identify and delete those which are no longer required.
Thanks, we will keep an eye on these ones and be in touch.
