Below you will find a video of flat races from yesterday, along with pictures and videos from today. So pleased that we managed to complete the sports with the children today. P3 also completed their obstacle race this afternoon with class teachers. Well done to all the children for their fantastic efforts and sporting attitudes.
Well done to Isla Whalen who took part in a drawing competition during lockdown to drawing something good in lockdown. The competition was organised by her dad’s work.
Isla was the winner of the 0-4 section and received a £25 gift voucher for a store of her choice.
Isla’s big sister Erin also entered the competition. Although not a winner in her category, she did receive a gift for taking part.
Well done girls.

For the past few years, we have created a yearbook for our P7 Leavers and presented it to them as they have moved from Primary to Secondary School.Â
As we approach the end of term, we would like to take the opportunity to share this yearbook with everyone to help celebrate our P7s who are moving on to High School. We will miss you all very muchÂ

P1 have been taking part in a variety of activities about ‘Winter’ lately from ice investigations to an outside winter hunt, creating frozen Elsa hands, printing winter scenes, loose part snowflakes, drawing snowmen using Paint and some great abstract art. Here are just a few of our activities….
 
Here are this week’s award winners including some from the same families! Also this week, we were delighted to see the first two awards nominated by Mrs Gray for P.E this week. Well done all!
 
Primary 5 (group 2) had a fantastic time at Carlingwark Loch with a full day of Watersports – sailing, kayaking and canoeing! Pupils demonstrated perseverance, resilience and great teamwork. Mrs Dyson was proud of all their efforts.
Primary 5/6 have had a fun afternoon learning about Italy. They were split into groups and rotated around different stations.
Station 1: Tasting Italian food and comparing it to Scottish food – Bread Sticks, Ferrero Rocher, Italian Coconut Cookies and Chocolate Chip Biscotti.
Station 2: Looking at real Italian greetings cards and making their own using Italian language.
Station 3: Using maps to locate Italian cities and finding out how people travel around Italy.
Station 4: Researching Pompeii and finding out about the volcano by looking at photos and reading books.
Some comments the children made at the end of the lesson:
Lily – “I learnt that the people of Pompeii didn’t know what a volcano was”.
Nicole – “I learnt that Italians eat very strange food but they probably think our food is strange too”.
Archie – “My favourite fact was that people in Italy use different stamps at Christmas time than the rest of the year”.
Jake – “I enjoyed learning about and tasting new Italian foods”.
