Well done to our netball teams who participated in the Stewartry netball league organised by Active Schools this term. Mrs Anderson was delighted with how all the team played and participated in the tournament. Our ‘light blue ‘ team were the overall winner this year so a huge congratulations to them.

Thanks to Mrs Anderson, Mrs Cox and Mrs Blackwood for giving up their time to coach the teams and support them each Monday during the league season.

Sponsored Cycle

On Saturday 1st of June pupils from P5-P7 participated in a sponsored cycle event to raise money for school funds. The event involved the four house teams cycling on turbo trainers to see how far they could travel within a 1 hour time slot. Each pupil and supporting adult cycled for at least 5 minutes. Dalbeattie Lions Club and GGB solicitors supported the school with this event and have provided a trophy for the house group that cycled furthest and medals for the team that raised the most sponsor money. Teams will also be allocated points towards sports day totals. Well done and thank you to all those who gave up their time on Saturday to participate and support the event.

Winners in both sections will be announced later this week.

Potted Sports

What a wonderfully energetic and enthusiastic day we had for PE at Dalbeattie Primary!

P7 excelled themselves as confident and capable responsible leaders of our 16 activity stations around the school. Children were all mixed up in house teams of P1-P6, actively learning and extending our skills and fitness through activities like New Age Kurling, Orienteering, keep fit dancing and beat the goalies, to name just a few. Knowledge, skill and fantastic ideas were shared with excellent examples demonstrated. Great fun was had and new friends were made in different classes.

Senior Pupils from Dalbeattie High School joined us and made an essential contribution as team leaders too.

It was one of those feel good days to be glad to be a part of, and proud of all contributing to making such a success!
