P6G Glasgow Science Centre trip

On Monday P6s from Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas Primary schools came together to visit the Glasgow Science Centre as part of their Space topic.

We had a great time watching the 3D movie all about life on the International Space Station.  Next we visited the planetarium and went star gazing in our amazing reclining chairs !

We also had a great time visiting the science stalls and doing some of the hand on experiments . Last stop was the gift shop for some souvenirs (coffee for the grown ups!)

A great day was had by all!

P6 Achievements

Keira in P6G brought in a fascinating collection of coins from home, some of which were Victorian! We were all fascinated by these and enjoyed seeing how they have changed over the years.

Lewis in P6G recently achieved an amazing first place in a skiing slalem competition abroad. He brought in his medal and some photographs, we were all very proud of Lewis. Well done!

P6 Solar System projects

Mrs Graham and Mr Maxwell are absolutely astounded at the effort P6G have put into making their space projects . The children were given the task of finding out about an aspect of space that interested them and create a 3D model with accompanying research .  There are planets, rockets, space ships, aliens and facts galore! The work that the children (and some parents !) have put in is truly wonderful and we are looking forward to looking at each project in turn.

Well done to everyone!
