P1 Christmas Enterprise

Last week P1F had a great afternoon selling their Christmas crafts to parents and relatives following a busy week of creating, gluing and glittering! We would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for coming and supporting us and helping us raise a fantastic £248.50!! We think this is amazing! Thank you also to Mrs Fitzsimmons’ mum for knitting our Santa and Elf for our raffle and to all of you who bought a ticket.  The winners were Sam in P1 and Kourtney in P6.

S3 Producers Market

The High School’s S3 Producers Market was a great success and the Primary School was delighted to be involved in it too. We are very grateful to all the support for our hampers. We had such an array of wonderful donations for each of our class hampers. A super sum (TBC) was raised for school funds.  It was also great to see participation from some of our classes who had made items to sell at the market. Primary 4 made bird feeders, Primary 1 /2 re-wrapped shortbread in their own gift wrap design and Primary 3 /4 made Bunny Bag Treats. (Sorry no photos from the Bunny bag stall where items sold out so soon- However pictures are in a separate blog post.)  Well done to Mrs Houston and her team in Dalbeattie High School who made this event such a success. See DHS Facebook page for more pictures.

Cash For Kids

Dalbeattie Primary School is proud to present local charity Cash For Kids with a cheque for £252 which was raised by our ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ which we held on the last day of term before the Christmas holidays. Our photos show the presentation of the cheque and the children and staff wearing their jumpers on at the service in Dalbeattie and Kirkgunzeon Parish Church on the last day of the Christmas term.  Cash For Kids’ Emma Cowan said she was very grateful for this donation and it would be put to very good use.

P1F Christmas Enterprise!

P1 have been busy little elves making lots of Christmas craft items to sell to our relatives!  We made cards, calendars, a placemat for our Christmas dinner, reindeer food and a Christmas wreath!  We started the sale by singing a song from our Nativity ‘A King is Born’  and then parents were invited to read our Elf Application forms!  We would like to say THANK YOU to all our parents and relatives for coming along to help us raise £108.65 which will go towards a school trip later in the year.

P1/2 Christmas crafts

P1/2 have been very busy making lots of different Christmas crafts for our fundraising enterprise. We had great fun making cards, a calendar, two decorations and reindeer food.  We even created posters to send home to advertise our sale.  The children enjoyed participating  in all the different activities as well as being able to sell their items to their relatives.  Families were also given a little preview of some of our nativity songs from ‘A King is Born.’   Thank you for helping us raise £69.00.

Awards, RNLI Fundraiser and Wow Tracker

At this week’s assembly, the children had a visit from Sue Ingram who gave an update about the Wow Tracker. She has brought badges for all the young people who have had the most ‘walk to school’ active journeys. Mrs Farish and Mrs Strachan, from Kippford RNLI Lifeboat Shop,  also joined us to receive a cheque for £300 which has been raised from our fundraiser to collect 5p coins in little jam jars. This week’s Head Teacher’s award winners  are also pictured.
