Mrs Graham and Mr Maxwell are absolutely astounded at the effort P6G have put into making their space projects . The children were given the task of finding out about an aspect of space that interested them and create a 3D model with accompanying research . There are planets, rockets, space ships, aliens and facts galore! The work that the children (and some parents !) have put in is truly wonderful and we are looking forward to looking at each project in turn.

P6 had a great day yesterday at the Stewartry Rugby Club, taking part in the Active Schools cross country competition. Everyone managed to complete a very challenging course, with our very own Nicole achieving a 3rd place medal in the girl’s race. Well done to everyone who took part!
Whether elliptical , irregular or spiral P6G and Mr Maxwell have done a superb job of their galaxies and they are now up on the wall for everyone to see. We have even had a few people wanting to buy them… more bids are welcome!!
P6G had a great afternoon experimenting with colour and the method of pendulum painting!
We used pictures of galaxies as a stimulus and created elliptical patterns with paint. It was not easy and is probably best done outside. There was paint everywhere!! We worked well as a team and shared thoughts about the height of the bottle and size of shape.

To kick off our new topic, we looked at the Aurora Borealis (the Northern Lights ) and used mixed media to create calendars for the new year 2017. They are coming home today with the children.
Both P6B and P6G had a great time at their Christmas party with lots of fantastic dances and fun. Have a look at some of the pictures!
P6G had a great time on Friday singing for the Day Centre visitors. We enjoyed performing and then chatting to everyone afterwards. Thank you to the Day Centre for having us and for the lovely treats!!
P6 have been busy creating some fantastic art work to go with our Victorians topic. We used pencil to sketch portraits of Queen Victoria, adding details with shading.
Next we created chimney sweeps with chalk and charcoal. This was trickier as you cannot rub out mistakes!

We painted autumnal trees using warm colours and black pen for details. We are very pleased with how they turned out.
Miss Clendinning came into P6 this morning to show us how to set up our own blogs. We had fun writing out first post and editing our header to show off our personality. We hope to share these with our parents by logging into Glow at home.
