STEM challenge P6/5

Our brief yesterday was to design and construct a spaghetti bridge, strong enough to support a weight of 250g.

To build the bridge we only could use pasta, tape and rubber bands. My bridge held 600 grams but the winners held 725 grams so we came 2nd.  by Cameron McG

Bridges were very hard to make but most of them could hold two dictionaries for an example ours me, Eve, Cameron and Chiara. by Josh

Base 4 Mrs Cameron

STEM

Base 4 are very lucky to have Mrs Cameron ( who works at Spirit) coming in over the next 2 weeks to work on a series of lessons based on flight .  Yesterday we found out about drag, thrust, lift and weight and why they are all needed to make a plane fly.   We made some tricky paper aeroplanes and had fun getting them to fly.

We are looking forward to Mrs Cameron returning on Thursday for more experiments.

Our Rhyme of the week is….

Please find on our communication board the nursery rhyme of the week which is one, two, three, four, five and the Makaton signs to go along. Please feel free to go over the signs and songs at home with your child. Please have a look at our communication board and feel free to take a speech sound development leaflet which are very useful and located on the communication board in the yellow button folder pictured above. Thank you. Miss Clark.

They delivered their lines so well – everyone taking on at least a small part. Well done! Thanks also to some of the P5s and P6s of Base 4 for coming along to support us with the songs.

Over £170 from ticket sales will go to Poppy Scotland. Thank you!
