Health and Wellbeing

Due to the school closure, areas of the Health and Well-being curriculum were unable to be completed last session. For this reason, teachers will be covering certain aspects of the Health and Well-being RSHP (Relationships, Sexual Health, Parenthood) outcomes throughout October.                                                                                  Parental leaflets for each CfE level can be found under Health and Well-being in the information tab in the top menu. These will allow you to be aware of the experiences and outcomes pupils will cover and what they will learn during these lessons appropriate to the age and stage of the pupils.

The BIG Anti-Bullying Assembly 2020

Had today been a normal Monday,  Mrs. McKee, Mrs. Lawson and myself would have been taking the P1-3 and P4-7 assemblies and discussing the above subject with the children – Anti Bullying.                 Attached are some resources for parents which could be used to discuss this important matter with your children at home.                                 There is also a document with ideas to support children with worries or anxiety about being back in the school environment.              Mrs. McLaughland

ECC snack menu’s week beginning 28th Oct

ECC farm

Have a look at our new farm we have for the ECC children to explore through free play.

ECC Bear Hunt

Some of the boys and girls in the ECC enjoyed a bear hunt outdoors with Mr Muir this week. They went swooshing through the long grass, splashing through the river, squelching through the mud, tip toeing through the forest, slipping through the snow storm, then crawling through the den to find a bear!

Sumdog Competition

Primary 2-7 have been entered into the Maths Week Scotland Sumdog Contest. It runs from the 25th September until 1st October. Lets try and see Gargieston on the Leader Board! Good Luck!

PE Outdoors

It was great to see Mr Dearie’s class out doing Crossfit in the lovely autumn sunshine today. Well done, Primary 5!

Garden Work

Well done to the Primary 6s who volunteered to work with Mrs Lawson at lunchtimes and start weeding and clearing the huge amount of weeds which grew over lockdown and the summer. It could take some time to complete but many hands will make light work. Any more P6s who would like to join in would be made very welcome, however you must use your own set of gardening gloves.

A special mention to Alesha and Amy who phoned the council and asked them to come and empty our overflowing bins. The men came the very next day! Well done, girls!
