DanceFest

16 of our P4s are hard at work learning their routine for DanceFest. Emma and Eilidh from the Grange have been teaching them the dances during elective time. Details of the show (which will be in March) to follow. Enjoy!

Gargieston Fundraising Group

There are core members of the GFG who hold official roles – the roles being Chairperson, Treasurer, Marketing and Secretary.

What we are looking for is a small group of parents / friends who would love to organise an event without the extra commitment of becoming a permanent member of the GFG / Parent Council. Some examples being – parents who are keen runners are organising Roon The Toon; our successful musical bingo night was organised by one parent who replicated this from an event at work.

The GFG will support you with all the technicalities, all you need to do is bring enthusiasm!

If you are interested please pop along to the parents room on Friday 14th February at 9 am for Tea and Treats and show your love for the school.

Girls’ Football

A new programme is beginning to give Grange Education Group girls the same opportunities as the boys currently receive. This is initiative is with a view to forming a girls’ district squad.

It will target Primary 6 and 7 girls and the first night takes place this Friday 31st January at Ayrshire College from 3.30pm – 5pm.

The girls would be expected to make their own way there but Mr Smith will meet them at the college for the first week to assist in any way he can.

Friday will start with all the girls playing games in mixed school teams. Ultimately the organisers are looking to form 3 teams ranging from established competitive players, to improvers, to those who would just like to play for fun.

If your daughter would like to attend please let Mrs Lawson know as soon as possible.

Many thanks.

ECC – Word Aware

Over the next two weeks we will be focussing on the word ‘little’. The children will have the opportunity to take part in small group activities to enhance their understanding of little and not little. It would be very beneficial if you could continue to embed the concept of little at home.  A simple way of doing this could be asking your child to go on a treasure hunt around the house to find things that are little and things that are not little.

Please post photos of  your child’s findings/activities on their E-portfolio.
