P7 Burns Supper

Well done to all the Primary 7 children who performed at our annual Burns Supper. They recited, sang and played beautifully for their parents, grandparents and friends. They even helped prepare the supper with the delicious shortbread they made with Mrs Cowie!

Dyslexia Friendly Schools

This term the DfS group will be focussing on introducing audio books for the library. This will be great news for all the auditory learners in the school.

The group will also be carrying out a survey to find out the preferred learning styles amongst the pupils eg. kinaesthetic, auditory…

Disabled Parking Spaces

Unfortunately we had several cars parked in the blue badge spaces beside the school again today. These spaces must be left free for the people who require them. Could all parents and carers ensure grandparents, friends or childminders who will be collecting children know this too?

Many thanks for your co-operation.

SLT Helpline

The SLT helpline will be available from Monday 4th February till Monday 25th march from 8.30am-10.10am, this is for a trial period only.

The help line is still available on a Thursday from 2pm-4-pm.

This helpline is for parents who may have concerns about  their child’s speech, language or communication skills and would like some advice.

Details are also available on the communication board in the ECC

Parking Problems

We are very disappointed because the school has again been getting phone calls about people parking very badly.

Woodside Avenue, people are still parking on yellow lines and on the zig-zag lines.  This means that the corner is blocked and drivers cannot see properly when they are driving round.

Children also have to walk between parked cars, this is not safe and someone could get hurt, we don’t want this to happen, please stop this!

Also, there are still cars coming into the staff car park, this area is only for staff cars and blue badges.

Do not park here!

Calum Stewart, Sam McCallum, Aaron McCullie and Fraser Allison.

ICY PLAYGROUND

Please be advised that Mr. Nisbet, our janitor is doing his best to grit car parks, roads and paths within our school. However, this morning the whole school area, including the playground is very icy. Please dress accordingly, especially footwear and take extra care walking to school and within the school grounds. Children can enter the school building from 8.50am.

**We are open**

Gargieston PS & ECC is open as normal today.

Please dress for the weather, take care on your commute to school and don’t worry if you are running a little bit late.

We will bring all children in at 8.50am.

Schools Badminton Competition

Congratulations to Dominic and Arran who represented Gargieston at a schools badminton competition at the weekend.  Both boys played very well and enjoyed the competition.  Well done!
