Wider Achievement Assembly

Our next Wider Achievement Assembly will be held on Monday 2nd December.

Children should bring in any achievements along with their wider achievement award slip either tomorrow or on Monday 2nd December.

Slips can be obtained from class teachers or the school office.

ECC Post office

The ECC are going to be creating a role play post office for the children to explore. If any parents work at a local post office and could donate us resources such as: Post bags, posters, leaflets, uniform we would be very grateful. If there is a parent who would be willing to come along to the ECC to talk to the children about their role as a postman this would be fantastic please let Mrs Hendrie in the ECC know.

ECC nativity

If you have not yet collected your tickets for the ECC nativity please collect these from Mrs Hendrie.

We will be having a donations box at the ECC nativity for donations for the local food bank.

Lucas Bone loved his visit to Rugby Park.

Chloe Allison went along with her Dad, Gran and Papa.

Getting To Know You Day

It was lovely to see the P7s return from Grange with broad smiles after their Getting To Know You Day. This was the first time they met up with their future classmates and enjoyed all the activities they were presented with.

Gargieston Choir @ Vow to Wow!

Our choir certainly wowed the crowd at Ayrshire College last night. They sang beautifully and represented the school very well at the event.

Praise was heard from Councillors, Senior Council Officials as well as parents, families and members of the public.

Thank you very much to all the children for coming out at night time.

We must say a huge thank you to ‘Love Lila Photography’ who captured some beautiful pictures of our choir.

Science Club

Gargieston Science Club started this week which saw Daniel Gorman from KESS (Kilmarnock Engineering and Science Society) deliver the first of four family learning sessions on ‘Electricity’. Children and parents enjoyed finding out about electrons and wiring their own circuits. I wonder what challenges will be set next week?

ECC Word Aware

‘Cold’

For the next 2 weeks we are going to be learning about  ‘cold’. We have been discussing things that are cold and not cold . The children have been taking part in a range of activities to help understand the concept of cold. To enhance your child’s understanding please encourage them to talk about things that are cold and not cold or times when they may be cold e.g this water is cold and this water is not cold.

Please post photos of things that are big and not big on your child’s E-portfolio.

Make & Taste Sessions

Thanks to all who came along to todays Make & Taste sessions. I hope you all enjoyed making Fruity Crumble Tumblers!

The sheet will be in the cloakroom tomorrow for next weeks Salad tortilla wraps (first come first served basis).

If you attended today, please bring along your booklet next week!
