Mrs Nyondo shows you how to make a Wee Book.
Now make a Wee Book about the people who live in your house.
Key Words: This is my She He likes
Remember a full stop at the end of each sentence.
Art – 23/03/20
Try to improve your skills in observational drawing. Choose any item in the house. You could go outside and draw some plants! Look at it very carefully. Look at the shapes it makes and the shadows it forms. Sketch the object drawing what you see, not what you think you see. You can use plain paper or your one of your jotters.
Maths – 23/03/20
Get 2 dice (you may have them in a board game). Roll the dice. Add them together. Roll the dice. Take the small number away from the large number.
Want to make it harder? Roll 2 dice. Add the number together. Now double it.
Remember to write your questions out on your white board.
Tiling – 23/03/20
Find objects to draw around in your house. Do they tile?
Remember the success criteria: No gaps, no overlapping, you must tile more than 8 shapes to prove it tiles, look for a pattern, you can turn or flip your shape.
My mobile phone tiles! It is a rectangle
Literacy 24.3.2020
- P1 Phonics – ue sound P1 sound of the week – a link to listen to the song, a couple of whiteboard activities, a worksheet to print or look at together on the screen.
P2s – Remember you have spelling lists in your home packs. Keep practicing words, playing games with them, writing them in sentences and stories.
- P1-3 Reading Listen to Oliver Jeffers read his book “How to Catch a Star” on his website or on Youtube https://www.oliverjeffers.com/books#/abookaday/
Can you draw a story map to show what happened in the story? Can you draw some pictures and do some writing about how you would catch a star? Or what you would do if you had your very own star?
- Writing – are you helping out at home this week? Have you been helping to make your lunch? Make a sandwich and then write a set of instructions.
P2/3s – Remember, a good set of instructions needs:
*a title *a list of ingredients/materials/equipment *instructions in time order *bossy words like cut/get/spread *time connectives (First, Then, Next, After that….)
P1s – try using the words put the on to write a wee book about making a sandwich.
Would love to see your sandwiches and your instructions!
30.3.2020
PE – I know lots of you are doing a daily workout with Joe Wicks, but if you are missing the Lets Get Sporty coaches they are posting activities to try out on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Letsgetsporty/
Art Try shadow drawing some of your toys. Works inside with a light behind or outside on a sunny day. Thought some of our guys would like this dinosaur scene (Reece, Brody, Airen!)
Reading Keep practising those common words and sounds. Got Nerf guns at home? Here is a fun way to practise!
You could do the same outside with big word targets and a ball.
Book Scavenger Hunt – look at your books shelves at home. Can you find a book with…
- an animal as the main character?
- a dragon in it?
- a queen in it?
- rhymes?
- a girl as the main character?
- a boy as the main character?
- 3 books by the same author?
- no words?
- a book which tells you facts?
- a funny book?
Remember to keep reading lots with mum/dad/brothers/sisters, and talking about the stories.
