Rhyming challenge

Today’s challenge is to try and find as many different rhyming words as you can.  The rhyming word is a nice easy one to start.  The word today is bat.

Remember when you are rhyming, the end pattern at stays the same and the letter or letters at the beginning change.

To make it a challenge see if you can score as high a score as possible.

  • Score 1 point for three letter words
  • Score 2 points for four letter words
  • Score 3 points for words that are larger

Post your final score up here and I will put up a list of rhyming words up on Friday.  I will also put up a new rhyming challenge tomorrow.

Beetle maths

Play beetle maths by trying to draw the beetle.  Roll a dice and if you can give a correct addition sum with the answer then you draw that part of the beetle.  Remember you have to draw a body first.  You can only draw a head once you have a body.  You can only draw antenna and eyes of you have a head.

To make it harder, change the numbers for the beetle’s body parts to make them higher, then you can add more than two numbers in your sum to give the answer.

Do it in French using your number knowledge.

Key words: un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix, onze, douze, treize, quatorze, quinze, seize, dix sept, dix huit, dix neuf, vingt, plus +, egal =

Weather report

Can everybody please record the weather and write a sentence or a  couple of sentences to say what it is like today though comments please.  If your children are able to type the comment then even better!  You can continue to comment on this and record the weather for the next week too.

E.g. –  Friday 20th March – The weather today is warm and bright.  The temperature today is 12C.

These words below may help.
