As our end of term class reward, Primary 1/2 chose ice cream. It was very welcome in the hot weather and everyone enjoyed it.
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Mainlands Shop for very kindly donating the ice cream to our class.

The class has been doing work about safety in the local environment as well as litter and the pollution and danger it causes. Please take a look at their work.
We had a visit from the school nurse. She came to speak to us about staying healthy and looking after ourselves.
She measured us to see how we were doing too. It was great to have a visitor in class! Zoe even read us a story about bucket filling and making sure we are kind. Then she had us doing some activities too.
What a brilliant end to a busy week! We all had a superb morning celebrating with our P7 Jarl Squad (and the official SMUHA Jarl Squad). Here are just a few photos. The bright, joyful colours and happy faces sum up our day! Until next year….
On Tuesday 5th June P1/2 visited the beach down from the school to explore the rockpools as part of their Seashore Topic. Mr Rose helped us to find lots of interesting creatures lurking in the seaweed! Everyone LOVED seeing the hermit crab swapping its shell!
What a beautiful afternoon for our beach clean! It was a big task again this year and today, we just concentrated on picking up as much plastic as we could find. P1/2 worked hard and did a super job! Thank you to the parents who joined in too. Many hands make light work!
It’s been a busy start to the term. We’re glad to welcome two new pupils into P1/2 and we’ve been enjoying getting to know them. Today we were lucky enough to be blessed with beautiful weather for our Voar Redd Up to the Croft House Museum. P1/2 did a super job cleaning up. We didn’t find too much bruck, which is a good thing!
Thank you to everyone who came along to our French afternoon on Wednesday. We had a busy morning drumming in assembly, but then got straight to work preparing the classroom for an afternoon with family and friends and of course some French treats too!
We’ve had a splendid day! Beautiful weather for our procession to see the galley burning, squad acts that had us all giggling and topping the day off with the SMUHA Jarl Squad visit in the afternoon. Here are some of our photos from the day.
P1/2 have been busy making helmets and torches ready for the South Mainland Up-Helly-Aa celebrations. They have also worked on various cutting and painting projects to help decorate the dining hall and corridors. We took a class photo beside the school galley, “Fivla” today. I think they look the part! Looking forward to our school procession and galley burning tomorrow and a visit from the jarl squad in the afternoon.
