We will Remember

This has been a busy week learning about Remembrance Day.

The class enjoyed listening to the Poppy Story and observing photos and music about our soldiers in the war.  We made a Poppy sun-catcher and worked on our fine motor skills to complete this.  We were responsible citizens and showed our respect for our fallen soldiers during our 2 minutes silence.

We were also learning about Diwali, the festival of lights.  Afterwards we took part in designing some Rangoli patterns and making a candle decoration.  We were confident individuals during these tasks.

This week has went off with a BANG!

In the Oak class we are continuing to interact with our friends and learn new card games,  so far we have played snap and scabby queen.  We have been effective contributors and participated actively during our games.

We completed our work on raising our awareness on climate change and the effect of natural disasters to people and animals homes.  We were confident individuals when sharing our thoughts on each picture and demonstrated understanding of the situation in each picture.

It was fireworks night, we completed a lot of literacy work this week with a firework theme and then created these lovely bright pictures.

We are in November, so it is time for Christmas show rehearsals to start within the class.  Successful learners when learning to play their song for the virtual show.

Successful learners all round during literacy, every one had their individual work to complete. Everyone focused their attention to complete the tasks set.

Fireworks

Yesterday was Bonfire Night and we enjoyed looking at videos of fireworks at morning group. We then had lots of fun creating different firework artwork. We used food colouring in droppers and added these to some salt pictures. The salt soaked up the colour creating a beautiful firework picture.

IDL Science

As part of our “A Bug’s Life” theme we have been exploring the garden and noticing the different plants.  We all were confident individuals during our outdoor learning time and were all able to actively participate in planting seeds. We had fun using a trowel to put soil into our pots and then adding the seeds. We  then left them in our outdoor area. Some of the pupils have been watering them and we have been watching them grow over the last couple of week.
