Responsible Citizens – Whole school shelter

The Transition class were Responsible Citizens when they took responsibility to erect an outdoor shelter for the whole school to use. They listened well to instructions and worked together to hold it steady as the guy lines were tightened. We hope to get a lot of use for outdoor education towards the end of term.

IDL evidence – caring for one another

The Asteroids have learned during their topic, that Pirates were quite nasty and unkind towards other people.

We agreed that it was much better to be kind to others. We looked at the Christian values of being kind to each other and the Golden Rule of treating others as we would want to be treated.

We made a bee out of toilet roll tubes to help us remember to ‘Be Kind’ and to treat others like we would like to be treated. We did really well sticking on the black stripes, eyes, antennae, wings and words.

We all looked at different actions and behaviour cards and could sort them into ‘friendly’ and ‘unfriendly’ piles. We demonstrated we knew how to treat others kindly and care for each other.

Well done, Asteroids!

Digital Learning – Snowdrops

*successful learners*  *effective contributors*  *responsible citizens*  *confident individuals*

The Snowdrops have enjoyed looking a various digital technologies in class.  Through using switches, i-pads, bee bots, sensory technology, remote control toys and the Promethean board, we have been able to access, enjoy and develop our learning through the use of technology.

Everyone enjoyed using technology to play number and literacy games, access songs and develop programming skills with the Beebot.  We’ve had great fun!

Digital Learning Week

We have enjoyed exploring and experimenting with different technologies this week.

We were very responsible when finding out ways to be safe when using the internet on technologies. We listened to a story about Buddy the Dog and how he helped his friend, Ben, make good choices when using the Internet. We made our own poster on how to be safe using the internet.

We explored using QR codes too. It was fun scanning the code and waiting to see what would happen. The codes took us to songs and stories, which we enjoyed.

During our topic time, we tried some Pirate coding. We used coding to find different items on a treasure map.

We also made our own mobile phone and chose apps to add. Some of us wrote text messages to people at home.

It was fun exploring different types of technology and the boys were brave trying out new things.

Well done, Asteroids!

A digital hello from the Pine Room

This week for Science and ECO we were responsible citizens and made hanging bird feeders for our feathered friends, we mixed the special bird seed and lard together, then pressed it into cups to mould them. We are just waiting for a nice day to get outside and hang them up.

Join us for a game of dominoes?

We love dominoes in the Pine Room – a great way to do numeracy.

Literacy and Art we have been working on the letter ‘T’ and made some stripey Tiger pictures, below are a couple of links to some ‘T’ activities.
