Digital Learning – Snowdrops

*successful learners*  *effective contributors*  *responsible citizens*  *confident individuals*

The Snowdrops have enjoyed looking a various digital technologies in class.  Through using switches, i-pads, bee bots, sensory technology, remote control toys and the Promethean board, we have been able to access, enjoy and develop our learning through the use of technology.

Everyone enjoyed using technology to play number and literacy games, access songs and develop programming skills with the Beebot.  We’ve had great fun!

Digital Learning with the Daisies Class!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *

The Daisies Class enjoyed celebrating Digital Learning week in school. We completed an internet research task where we had to find dinosaur facts. We searched for photographs of the dinosaur with the loudest roar, the sharpest teeth, the dinosaur with the longest tail etc. We also enjoyed visiting the school printer to collect our research.

We used the SMARTboard as a visual timer and timed ourselves to see how long it took us to rescue our trapped dinosaurs. We had to use our fine motor skills to get the elastic bands off of the dinosaur.

We completed a class pictograph voting on our favourite type of dinosaur. The Tyrannosaurus rex was the overall favourite.

Finally, we filled in the blanks using picture symbols to create our own dinosaur story. We read our stories out to our friends and used our descriptions to design a dinosaur on the SMARTboard.

Digidabble Week

This week is all about digital learning and using technology.

Different activities will be posted each day this week. You can tray as many of them as you would like too.

Today’s activity is a colour hunt.

Use a camera, phone or tablet to take a photo of something you can find for each colour of the rainbow.

This can be in your house, garden or local park.

Here is a video of some of our Willowbank friends showing the Makaton signs for colours to help 🙂

If you completed last weeks blog activity to plant some apple seeds, take a picture of how they look and post it in the comments. Have you seeds started to grow?
