Reporting Live from Transition Class

Every morning in the Transition Class, we all watch Newsround to keep ourselves up to date with what’s happening around the world.  The boys were Confident Individuals when picking a piece of news and creating a newspaper article about it. Topics included Frank the Ape’s 10th Birthday, the new Johnny English film and a new space-craft that will be going to space once its designed and built.

The transition boys were all Confident Individuals today. All the boys cut out and stuck together a life size replica of ‘Dippy the dinosaur’s’ femur bone and measured themselves next to the bone to see who was bigger than the bone.

FAOL Enterprise Stars Class Friendship Assembly

We led assembly this week which was on the theme of friendship. We told the story of ‘Rainbow Fish’ then showed everyone all the friendship activities and art work we’d done. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.

We have started to compile an ‘All About Me’ booklet as part of our new theme, Nanny McPhee.

Busy days in the Daisies

This week we have been very busy.

We have settled back into school and are beginning our new theme ‘Homes and Families’. We have explored the story ‘A Squash and A Squeeze’ and enjoyed making the different characters to create a display.

Everyone also worked hard in Music this week and used percussion instruments to make loud and soft, and slow and fast sounds. We self assessed our work using ‘happy’ and ‘sad’ faces.

Highlights of our week

All week our boys have been confident, successful and effective to complete all the work tasks you see below;

Jack was fantastic at his reading and creating sentences this week.

Angus and Nathan shared the sand tray between them and interacted well.

Anthony and Jack being super helpers, washing and drying the snack dishes.

We all have right to healthy food, so we made happy faces using fruit and then we tasted fruit we like and tried some new fruits.

Sean worked very well during rebound therapy, lots of good interaction and listening.

Our song that we are learning at the moment is George Ezra ‘Shotgun’, we are learning the signs and how to play the tune on the chime bard and bells.

We were learning about different houses and structures, we were looking at the yurt and tepee houses.  So we decided to learn how to build our own tent, it was very warm and cosy inside.

Our boys made and posted their votes for all our school captain roles.

Angus completed 10 minutes on the treadmill!
