Today we wrote a traditional Japanese poem, a Haiku.
A haiku has three lines, and the syllables for each line are 5, 7, 5.
Haikus are often written about the seasons and nature.
Here are our poems.

What we have learned so far…
if you can say it you can play it,
jembe drums are from Brazil
pandeiro tambourines are portable and can sound like many instruments
how to sit and hold the instruments
being in a band is great fun!
After looking at the painting ‘The Monarch of the Glen’ by Sir Edwin Landseer we sketched our own deer.
We are learning that fractions can be equivalent. We used Cuisenaire rods to find equivalent fractions, and the fractions wall on this website to see how they stack up.

We used most of the same ingredients as our sedimentary rock to create this weeks metamorphic rock. The sedimentary rock is squashed and heated under ground and turns into metamorphic rock eg lime stone becomes marble.
The end result was a dense, firm, shiny fudge with no grains or gaps like last weeks tray bake.
