This week is diggidabble week so we thought it might be good to do some activities involving technology. 💻📸

COLOUR TREASURE HUNT

Borrow a camera, phone or tablet and look around the house and garden for things that are red, blue, yellow, green, purple, orange, pink or black. Take a photograph of what you find. Mrs Chisholm and Mrs Westerman found these coloured things in their homes.

Mrs Logan and Mrs Gardner collected these things in their homes.

TAKE A SELFIE

Can you fit more than one person into your selfie? How many have you photographed? Can you decorate your selfie with a filter like Mrs Westerman has done?

Can you think of any other digital things you use around the house? Here are some examples. Can you think of any others?

Try and sing/sign along with this song.

Hello from Willow Bear

Hi Pine Class!!

How are you all?

Well I am still in Aberdeen, I was on my way back to Kilmarnock to join the rest of my Willowbank Friends at school,  but then Lockdown happen. So I am still with Heather, I think she is very happy that I am still here and keeping her company.  Heather is working at the Hospital, we have watched the TV and we do a lot of singing while Heather plays her keyboard. I like to look out of the window and see which of the neighbours are out doing their daily exercise, and report to Heather who has been getting things delivered after doing their online shopping.!!Wilson and the rest of the family FaceTime and tell us what they have been up to – have to say that isn’t that interesting!! I like reading the Willowbank Blog and enjoy when the children send in photos so I can see what my Willowbank Family are doing.

Take Care Everyone Love Willow the Bear xx

TV📺

Well this week I started watching something cool on TV called The Big Flower Fight – there is a clip below – some of you might like it, lots of lovely flowers and plants.

Today’s activity is a colour hunt.

Use a camera, phone or tablet to take a photo of something you can find for each colour of the rainbow.

This can be in your house, garden or local park.

Tuesday May the 26th

Hello everybody,

I hope you have had a nice ‘long weekend’.

This week we were supposed to be going on our residential trip, but we are healthy and happy at home in stead. The weather look better so this week’s learning is linked to being outdoors. There are video instructions below for different activities and I’ll be on the blog later this week with some activities that we would have done on our residential. Links below are from East Ayrshire’s Learning Outdoor Support Team (LOST).

Cloud Dough! ☁️

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend, despite the rainy weather.

Please find below a link on how to make your own sensory cloud dough. It’s super simple to make and uses only two ingredients:

  • cornflour
  • conditioner (cheapest is best!)

Food colouring can also be added but this is optional.

Take care and stay safe.

More home learning and Diggidabble week

Hi everybody,

I hope you liked your little rabbit and enjoyed using the stickers. This week the ladies have been extra busy thinking of fun activities for you to do with your family.

Activity 1 – literacy

Put a picture on a plate the cover it with salt. You can then use your finger or paintbrush to write out some letters, draw a picture of just to reveal the picture underneath. Have fun. You may want to put your plate on a tray to minimise spillages.

Activity 2 – expressive arts

Shadow art – we put cling film over a toilet roll or kitchen roll tube and stuck a sticker or made a design to stick on the end. We then used a torch to shine light through the tube and create a shadow image on the wall of the sticker or design.

Activity 3 – science

Tornado in a jar – We made a tornado in a jar. Watch the video to find out what you need and how to do it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF9v-t9AZIU&feature=youtu.be

Activity 4 – numeracy

Colour hunt – all the ladies went hunting around their house for a specific colour. Check out the video to see some of the pictures.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWxFGg1ncWU&feature=youtu.be

It would also have been Diggidabble week in school this week so here a few activities related to digital learning you can do at home.

Use a phone to take a selfie of yourself or you and your family.

Use your tablet or iPad. What apps do you like to use? Do you have a favourite game to play? Let us know in the comments below.

Make a facetime call or skype call with a family member to stay in touch.

Digital Learning Week!

To celebrate Digital Learning Week, I thought that I would set a series of tasks for you to complete and you could take photographic evidence (on a phone camera or ipad).

Over the last few days myself, Mrs Vernon, Mrs McInally and Miss Jones have all taken part. Here are our photographs below.

  1. Can you take a picture of yourself doing some form of exercise?

  1. Can you take a picture of yourself reading a book/magazine?

  1. Can you take a picture of a drawing/colouring/arts and craft activity you have completed?

  1. Can you take a picture of a meal/snack you helped make?

  1. Finally, after all of your hard work, reward yourself with a PJ day and take a picture of you in your PJs.

Remember all of these activities are optional and just ideas but it would be lovely to see some photographs of you taking part. Take care everyone 🙂

Digidabble week

Hello snowdrops , in school this week we would have been doing lots of fun activities using different types of technology. This isn’t so easy to do at home but we will as always try to ‘Be the best we can be’.

So I have tried to come up with a couple of activities you can do as home ,but you will need to ask a grown up to help as you will need a camera , camera phone or iPad .
Activity 1

When  you are out for your daily exercise try looking to see if you can find Some or all of the scavenger hunt list I have made . ( take photos 📷)

A blue car 🚙

A tree 🌳

A postbox 📮

A flower 🌷

A bin 🗑 ♻

A animal ( 🐶  , 🐈  , 🐴  , 🦢 🦋  etc )

A sign 🚸

something round ⭕

something square ◼

something in your garden

something that makes you happy 😃

Activity 2

look around your house and see if you can find items with the same initial letter of your name ..( take a photo 📷 ) if that’s too easy then try doing it for everyone in your house .

Mine would be the letter ‘M’ – money

Activity 3

Have some fun on the CBeebies app and watch some Peter rabbit or play some Peter rabbit games .
https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/puzzles/peter-rabbit-jigsaw

https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/puzzles/peter-rabbit-hide-and-seek-quiz

Good luck everyone and can’t wait to see any pictures you manage to take 👍🏻

Yoga with Moovlee the Monkey

Hello Snowdrops!

In class, we always enjoyed doing some yoga with Moovlee the Monkey.

Our favourite yoga video was always making shapes of the letters of the alphabet. Here are some photos of us doing yoga in class, do you remember?

This week, let’s do some alphabet yoga again with Moovlee!  You can do yoga indoors or outside, if it is sunny.  If you don’t feel like doing the yoga, you can just have fun watching the video.  All the ladies in the Snowdrops Room have been doing the yoga too.  Can you guess what letter of the alphabet we are showing?

Here is the link for the Moovlee Alphabet Yoga video –              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0RUN0e3ZGY

We would love to see any photos of you doing some yoga Snowdrops!  Stay safe, missing you all.
