Next Week in P4/5

Good morning all!  We hope you have managed to get outside and enjoy this amazing week of snow we’ve had, in between all those snowy showers!

Next week we have a busy week planned for you!  We hope that Gregory and his team from The Children’s Parliament will be in school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning.  On Tuesday, we will also have a visiting artist in class who will do creative work with you so we would ask that you all bring in an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes.

On Thursday we will be swimming again and we’ll have another session of Boccia to look forward to on Friday!

It’s going to be a busy one!  Hope to see you all soon!  👋

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  It’s been so lovely to see everybody back at school and to hear about the excitement of Christmas!

This week, we’ve been getting to know Mr Shannon, who is working alongside our class for his 5 week long teaching experience placement.  We are delighted to welcome him to our class and hope he enjoys his time in P4/5 at DPS.

The children did so well at the Sandwick Pool this first week back showing great listening skills while being instructed by pool staff in the water and showing considerate and respectful behaviour while we spent time in Sandwick JH School.  We are very proud of how they conducted themselves.

It’s always a tiring first week after Christmas so we were glad of some game time on Friday afternoon.  We welcomed Charis, Kayleigh Anne and Avril from Ability Shetland to the school.  They introduced us to Boccia and we played some target games.  Great fun was had by all!  We look forward to their return!

Avril kept us right by showing us whose turn it was next using her blue and red paddle.
Spot the ball!

There were many cheers and groans!
