On 25th September P5 spent the afternoon cleaning dirty water. We used gravel and sand to sieve water through. It looked a lot clearer, but not clean enough to drink!

On 18 th September we learnt about the effect of air pressure on our weather and how it makes air move.
On 13th September we had a visit to the Sound Gospel hall to do a bible study workshop. They were very kind and the children enjoyed a snack and juice there.
In the afternoon we visited the museum. They gave us a tour of the ‘heritage’ section and we learnt how to make butter. It was easier To do than we all thought it would be and it tasted delicious on the bannocks.
Today Mr Rose came in to teach us all about the Water Cycle.
On Thursday afternoon, while the P6s were at Bikeability, the P5s had a great time learning how to play Ultimate frisbee. Finlay Watson, Captain of the Stirling University team and Kate Tyler taught our P5s how to do different throws and how to catch the frisbee. We then had a quick tournament in the multicourt.
Primary 5s had fun learning French weather phrases and then using Sock Puppets, an app on the IPad, to record conversations.
Mr Rose came into class again today to help us to learn about weather. We learnt about the water cycle and the states of matter – solids, liquids and gases – ice, water and water vapour.
