Reindeer Dust
P7S have been busy making reindeer dust so that Santa and his reindeers can find their way to your homes.
The reindeer dust is £1 and primary pupils can purchase bags from their class teacher. All ingredients are biodegradable.
P7S would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
Sign of the week for 6/12/21 is Nativity.
Sign of the week for 29/11/21 is ‘Christmas Tree’.
Waterproof Suits
We have recently purchased waterproof suits for learners in P4-7. This now means that all our learners have a waterproof suits to wear for outdoor learning or at social times.
These suits are proving are big hit! They can’t wait for the snow to come!
Sign of the week for 22/11/21 is ‘light’ ( not dark).
Lighthouse Trail – a partnership with Lerwick Port Authority
A large number of our pupils completed the Lighthouse Trail activity sheet, designed by our art teacher Louise Birnie and supported by the Lerwick Port Authority.
Everyone who completed the activity sheets and returned it received a goodie bag, kindly donated by the Lerwick Port Authority. Two of our pupils are modelling the ‘toories’ they received.
Children in Need Total
A big thank you to everyone for their kind donations for Children in Need. A total of £337.50 was raised by Bell’s Brae Primary School.
The pupils loved coming to school in the pyjamas 🙂

P7S Climate Poetry Winners
As part of their topic on Climate, P7S took part in a poerty competition run by the Church of Scotland. Pupils were asked to write a poem to reflect their feelings about the climate emergency and the impact it is having on the world. The quality of work produced was outstanding and it was obvious to see that pupils had a lot of knowledge about climate change and COP26 and had strong feelings about these events.
Three winners in the 9-12 age group were selected and they were all from P7S! The winners were Willow, Josie & Findlay. They were invited along to a Climate Service at the Church of Scotland in Lerwick where Willow read out the poems.
A huge well done to Willow, Findlay & Josie!
