Primary One Social Snack

Primary One continue to enjoy their weekly “social snack”.

We take turns preparing the snack by spreading, grating, mixing, cutting, rolling and slicing different food items.

We like to talk about what we are eating; discussing foods we like and foods we are not so sure about. Eating a snack together encourages us to ‘try’ different foods we maybe haven’t tried before.

Today, we made Valentine’s cakes 🙂

Sports Committee Christmassy Day

The Bell’s Brae Sports Committee organised events on Thursday 12th December.  Pupils were asked to wear something Christmassy and there was the opportunity to go to the gym hall to enjoy Christmas activities after their lunch.  Mrs Redfern also helped the committee to set up a Christmas Scavenger Hunt in the playground.  There was a lovely atmosphere and everyone really enjoyed the activities.  Well done to the Sports Committee for their hard work in organising this.

Classes visit the Circus!

Today the Primary 5, 6 and 7 classes were lucky to get to visit The Magpie Big Top to take part in circus workshops.  It was a beautiful day for the classes to walk to the playing park and learn new skills with the performers who are visiting Shetland.

The pupils all had a fantastic time.  Ellis and Callum from P5S said it was their first time at a circus and they had really enjoyed using the flower sticks to try out tricks.

Alfie from P5s had found it very satisfying when he had been able to master a skill using the sticks.

The photos below show how much fun the children had!
