WORLD BOOK DAY 2026

We thoroughly enjoyed world Book Day 2026 at Bell’s Brae.  We had people dressed as book characters, book quizzes, illustration drawing and of course, lots of reading!

The Pupil Council also held a book sale where over 380 books were sold!

Here are the book quiz winners with their certificates and prizes.

STEM AWARD FOR P7

A huge congratulations to pupils from P7S who have been taking part in a STEM project and competed today at the Shetland Museum in a STEM celebration event.

Pupils had to present their Climate Smarter School models to judges and got to participate in STEM challenges from local businesses.

The pupils’ weeks of hard work paid off and they were crowned the Regional Winners! Well done P7S.

P7 Titanic Homework

This term we have been absolutely overwhelmed and delighted with the effort that the P7 pupils have put into their Titanic homework.

Pupils have been busy at home making items such as cardboard models, restaurant menus, outfit and jewellery designs, online games and animations, documentaries, paintings and Minecraft models.  Some have also made steak dinners  and baked cakes.  This year we have even had a crocheted Titanic!

This year’s display has had many lovely comments from staff and pupils.  During lunchtime and break time it is hard to walk past the display without seeing someone who has stopped to look at it.

The variety and standard of their homework is a testament to their conscientious attitude and their wonderful skills and talents.

We would also like to thank parents and carers for their support with this homework.  It has been very apparent that the pupils have enjoyed spending time with family members and friends to produce their pieces of work.
