XL Tea Party

Tea PArtyThe S3 XL class organised and hosted a tea party on 9th June. The class invited residents from our local elderly care homes to come along for an afternoon of tea, coffee, home-baking and live entertainment.

Our guests enjoyed the refreshments provided, much of which was created by pupils in our Home Economics Department, and were enthralled by the array of music and drama provided by our Performing Arts Department. Many of our visitors won prizes in the raffle and everyone then joined in the sing-along led by Mrs MacVicar and Mrs Carpy.

Our guests thoroughly enjoyed their visit and many commented on how impressed they were by the conduct of all the pupils involved.

Well done!!

S3 XL Christmas Parcels

We are going to make parcels of foods and non-perishable items to be given to some of the Elderly in the local community
We are sending out a letter to every young person in the school to ask for a donation of a tin or non-perishable item and once this is all gathered in we will make up the parcels to be delivered to the Elderly. We are also hoping that staff will help by bringing in an item too.
Pupils should hand in names of people to receive parcels and any items to their class tutor teacher.
The class who donates the most wins the mystery PRIZE!
All items should be received by Monday 16th December

Update: Cat and Dog Home Appeal

Just a huge thank you to all who donated blankets, towels, sheets, jackets,  food and toys to the Cat and Dog Home appeal. Some of the S3 and S5 girls visited the home this morning to deliver the donations. The staff wanted to extend their gratitude and appreciation and they commented on how large a donation we had collected.

Thanks again for your help and support with this appeal.

Rich man poor man lunch

On December 14th the higher health and food technology class are hosting a rich man poor man lunch for S6 pupils and Teachers. This is to raise money for SCIAF and to raise awareness of the poverty in the world today. 80% of the world live in poverty and don’t have enough food but 20% of the world has too much food.

Tickets cost £2. A selection of tickets will say rich man and a selection will say poor man. It’s a lucky dip so why not take a chance. The lunch will take place at 12.30 – 1.15 in the SS Hall.
