It is not recommended that pupils are absent from school for avoidable reasons.  Normally, it is expected that families will be able to arrange holidays within school holiday periods.  In exceptional circumstances, however, pupils wishing to go on holiday with their families during term-time must apply to the Head of their Year Group well in advance of the intended holiday.  Pupils will be marked absent during these periods and these absences will be entered on the school record.
