Highlights of our Week

We have a right to share our thoughts freely  UNICEF Article 13.  We enjoyed  listening to a story called, ‘What to do with an idea’.  The moral of the story was to share your ideas with everyone and say what you are thinking.  So we made a silhouette picture of our head and put jigsaw puzzles inside for our ideas.  In the Oak class we are regularly encouraged to share what we think.

We enjoy working on our reading skills every week, we are becoming confident individuals at reconsigning the familiar words that are repeated throughout the story.

Everyone in the Oak class loves pizza, we played a pizza topping game with friends to increase our memory skills.  Some of us could remember three toppings others could remember up to five toppings.

We were successful learners when following the music to play some of our favourite songs, this week we played ‘I Love my Life’ and ‘Three Little Birds’.  Everyone was actively engaged in the music lesson.

We enjoyed our outdoor PE lesson, we were working on our basketball skills.  We were confident individuals when trying to dribble and shoot as independently as possible.  Everyone focused their attention and listened to the advice given to make their performance better.

Maths Week

The boys in the Bluebells were successful learners for “Maths Week” this week.  On Monday we had a shape hunt indoors, we were all confident individuals finding the different coloured shapes around the room. We then matched lots of shapes on our shape sheet.

On Friday we did lots of number activities including a lovely number tuff tray in our outdoor area. We had different numbers in bowls and had to use the tweezers to put the correct number of pom poms into the bowl. The boys were successful learners all trying to use the tweezers independently and with a little support from the staff.

Hard at Work

Since coming back in August everyone in the Oak class have been busy as usual.  We are so happy to be back together and also being able to share all our work on the blog.  We have all been successful learners and confident individuals getting back into school routine and building up our stamina for learning again.  Here are some photos of the work we have been doing so far;

Cameron, Jack and Sam are happy to be back at school with their friends.

We enjoy daily exercise which includes cosmic yoga and a 20 minute run / walk.  The running and improved stamina is getting very impressive.

We have been working hard on our time telling skills, matching analogue to digital. Also we have been doing some problem solving activities.

Our theme topic is the ‘Great Outdoors’, we have been enjoying taking part in all the activities related to our book, ‘A Camping Spree with Mr Magee’.

Throughout the week we take part in set games to encourage turn taking and interacting with our peers.
