Ice cream in a bag, koalas and keeping our gardening growing.

As we have had such lovely weather we decided to make ice cream in bag – which worked really well.

Continuing with our Australian theme we have been making koala art work with newsprint.

Being responsible citizens we have been making sure that our garden area has been well ‘hydrated’ and our plants are looking good.

Pinocchio Drawings!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS *

The Moonbeams class listened to the story of Pinocchio as part of our Italian fairytales.

We decided to try and brave drawing a picture of Pinocchio. It was very tricky and we had to do it step by step, one pencil line at a time. When we were finished, we added some colour. We are really proud of these drawings and think they all look really great!

FOAL ECO – EARTH DAY

We missed Earth Day on Monday due to a holiday so today we did some activities today. We were responsible citizens thinking about the earth. The lights were off all day and we made lovely Earth sensory pictures using shaving foam and food colouring. We mixed up the food colouring with the shaving foam and placed paper on top to create a picture. We really liked the texture of the shaving foam.

We went to the sensory room and didn’t turn any of the lights on. We had glow sticks and torches and read a story in the dark using the light from those. We then enjoyed just sitting and rolling around in the room in the dark. For the last 2 minutes we turned on the bubble tube to make it more colourful and relaxing.

We were responsible citizens are all made sure we washed our hands before making our food in the cookery room.  Our theme is France and we created our own Eiffel Tower creations using fruit. We used blueberries, banana and raspberries. The boys added their own fruit to their own tower. They all looked amazing.

We also made our own croissants and pain au chocolat. The boys enjoyed rolling the pasty to create them. We placed them in the oven to cook and the enjoyed them with butter and jam for our snack with the fruit from our Eiffel Tower creations.

Easter Fun

Despite it being a short week, we still managed to get a lot of work done in the Oak class.  A lot of work this week has had a literacy focus,  fine motor skills,  listening, observing, and comprehension of instructions.

It has been a busy but fun week with all the boys being successful learners and confident individuals in all the tasks we completed.

Sean had a great session on the trampoline during his rebound session, he was very relaxed and cooperative.  He signed for ‘more’ several times when he and had great eye contact during his cool down session.

We decorated our eggs with some aboriginal art to go along with our Australian topic work.

We also made some Easter cookies, we were all effective contributors when we made and decorated them.  Some cookies never made it home, they went straight into tummies as soon as they were iced.

We made some Easter glasses and Nathan really enjoyed wearing his, he kept them on all day.

Easter Bingo and Blake was the winner ‘Full House’.  The boys were working on their listening and comprehension skills whilst  playing the game.

It was been a lovely week with lost of sunshine, the boys have enjoyed some time outside with their friends playing with the ball.

We made some colourful eggs, whilst working on our fine motor skills.  We did some weaving and tape to create two different style of eggs.

We met some lovely lambs two were only 1 day old and enjoyed a cuddle from some of our boys.  They were all very gentle and quiet when petting and cuddling the lambs. Lots of smiles all round.
