Good morning everyone! Mr Smith here!
I hope you are all well. Every morning this week, I will post a PE challenge. The first challenge is a 60 seconds speed bounce or for wee ones, 30 seconds. Details are on the card below. Try to beat your best score throughout the week. Have fun!
Remember you can always do my first challenge again (the video one) to spell your name.

VE Day
What a pity so many of the VE Day celebrations had to be cancelled or altered due to our current circumstances. However, thousands across the country came together at 11 am this morning as a mark of respect.
Ten years ago Gargieston pupils were responsible for securing a memorial bench in Culzean Crescent where 4 civilians died in May 1941 during the only night Kilmarnock was ever bombed in WWII.
The children traced relatives of those killed and held an emotional unveiling ceremony attended by these families, the children’s parents, residents of the street and many more.
Some of you may like to take a walk up to Culzean Crescent during your daily exercise to see the bench and the street.

TRAVELLING BOOK FAIR
A huge, long overdue thank you to everyone who supported the school during the visit from the Travelling Book Fair way back in March just before lockdown began. As always the selection of books appealed to readers of all ages. We sold over £2,400 worth of books which was the highest total we have ever achieved in Gargieston. Well done! This allows us to buy almost £1,400 of books for the school library, the ECC and classes. Pupils will help select books once we are back to school.
A special thank you to the group of parent helpers who assisted in running the book fair. Everyone’s help was very much appreciated.
THANK YOU!

3D Printing Hub
Many of our children will know that Mr Stewart has a keen interest in technology and is very skilled in this area.
As well as supporting children at the Gargieston Hub during the school closure period, Mr Stewart is also putting his skills to good use by working in the 3D Printing Hub at Stewarton Academy where he is involved in the production of visors. .
These visors have been donated to care homes within our community to provide added protection for the residents and staff.
We are very proud of Mr Stewart and the work he is doing to support carers and residents within our community – well done 🙂
Good morning!
Another lot of fabulous messages for everyone to read. Keep them coming and we will do our best to put them all on the blog!
